The Yoruba language is spoken by over 20 million people and is most common in Southwest Nigeria. Yoruba is also spoken in  parts of Benin and Togo. The official language of Nigeria is English. However, Yoruba is one of the three most common languages spoken in Nigeria. The other two are Igbo and Hausa. 

In Southwest Nigeria, you’ll find Yoruba used in government administration, educational materials, books, and films.
